Healthy Communities

Aila, St. Jude Medical employee volunteer for Girls, Science and Technology annual event

Aila,

employee volunteer

When I volunteer for Girls, Science and Technology, it’s thrilling to see kids get excited and hear them share something they’ve learned.

Encouraging the Growth of Healthy Communities

We all thrive when our communities thrive. Since our communities span the globe, so do our efforts to help grow, heal and build the communities in which we live.

Supporting in more ways than one

Whether it is through financial support from St. Jude Medical, or employee volunteerism, we work toward the goal of making our communities healthy.

We support or volunteer:

  • At the American Heart Association® (AHA) walks across the United States. You may find us walking a course or volunteering at the St. Jude Medical-sponsored hydration stations. In 2015, our U.S. headquarters’ teams, with nearly 1,600 St. Jude Medical employees and their families and friends, raised $174,000 to support awareness and prevention of heart disease.
  • At the Spanish Society of Cardiology annual Heart Race in Madrid, Spain, where St. Jude Medical employees and their families walk and run to raise money for research grants and to help instill healthy habits.
  • For the University of Minnesota Foundation by partnering to create the M.A.G.I.C. (Maroon and Gold Impacting the Community) Pass program, which transports children to and from mini health clinics at the University of Minnesota campus.
  • With Children’s HeartLink International and the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center (AIMS) in Kochi, India, to provide access to sustainable health care to help families in significant financial need qualify for free-of-charge services.
